Sometimes you see somthing that you think that's just worth sharing, this is one of those things.
Often the most popular spaces in a virtual world are those with a nice sandy beach, palm trees and the ocean lapping onto the shoreline... sounds nice and of course it is. But what about a 'different' experience, skyboxes, towers and castles can all be plenty of fun but there's still another space... underwater.
Travelling around the grid doing my job here at Openlife I ran across a region called Raven. It has a shoreline, some nice overlooking land and a near by hot spot next door in Electron. However the bit poking out of the top of the water was my interest today. Noticing a bunch of green dots in the region telling me there's people around I didn't see anyone anywhere... So I travelled down a tube and ended up in an underwater lounge.
And surprise surprise a couple of Residents scuba diving a humble ship wreck. 'Touch the Octopus' I was told, so I did and this giant octopus starts roaming around under water.
Fortunately my avatar doesn't really need air, otherwise I think he would have drowned by now, nonetheless I was able to gasp and feel impressed by the creativity. Talking to Gumby' the creator, he was more than happy to show me around this new space and personally I think others will be inspired by it's use.
A quick snapshot below:

So why write this? One of the reasons I enjoy the Openlife is the creativity of users. It's these Gems' such as underwater that make it so interesting and exciting to be involved in. If you have a region in world and thinking about something creative to do, perhaps give a thought to something in that often missed dimension... underwater.
