Client continually freezes up and disconnects:
If your client crashes, it's important to wait a minimum of two minutes before logging back into the OL grid. Relogging too quickly will result in the client freezing and being logged out of OL.

I Connect to OL and get waiting for region connection or similar error and you can’t get in world?
Change your login Region
Either go to region tool box and change your login region or in the Kirsten Openlife Viewer go to Edit menu preferences general and turn on (show start location on start-up screen) then just below your login name you can see a box showing my last location or home set it too Type Region Name and then enter the name of another region and press connect
Whilst we can not always say every region will be up without any errors there is normally one or two that can play up if you come in to chat on the website and I am sure someone can tell you the regions that are logging fine and maybe it just needs a restart so it help us all to make the grid run smooth and error free
We are in Alpha/Beta stage but we don’t want you to not enjoy your time here because of an error on one region

Can I use the Rex Viewer with Mac or Linux?
Not at this time, no.
I can't seem to make a folder inside another folder:
Folders can be created in the main inventory folder, then dragged into other main folders such as your texture folder.
I can't seem to place prims or notecards in other prims:

What connection speed should I use?
Use the file below to test the connection speed to OLG Grid
Download and watch the average speed (please turn off any download accelerators)
Times the download average speed by 8
So if your speed is 56.6kb a second times that by 8
EG: 56.00kbs X 8 = 448
Or
EG: 100kbs X 8 = 800
So set your bandwidth slider in preferences /network to around the number you have calculated

I locked a prim now I can’t edit it or unlock it
DO NOT! Lock Prims
at the moment they become permanent for now and can't be edited - Call 911 and an Openlife Admin will come and remove it.

I relogged and now many of my Prims are missing! Help!
Don't despair. They are not really missing. Second Life has a feature that makes the view acknowledge that it has recieved all the information that makes up a prim. If it doesn't get this acknowledgement, the server then resends the prim. OpenLifeGrid does not have this component - YET.
During times of high use or of network congestion (either on the grid or in your wireless connection or with your ISP) you might be losing packets of information. These packets carry the information that makes prims visible during your initial load.
If your viewer doesn't get the packet - it won't get the prim! The interesting side effect is that server still knows about the geometry and physics of the prims in question! you can't see them, but you can't walk through them either.
So, just relax and either relog, you mgith get lucky, or waith for a period when the internet is less congested, but remember, you haven't really lost the prims.
A lot of recent work has been made surrounding this issue <please check if this is still relevant>
How Do I change My Home Region away from Welcome
Changing Home is accessed by Avatar Toolbox
This is done by clicking the little pencil icon and chose the home region you want remember to press update at the bottom of the page now your home region is made permanent or until you change the region to somewhere else,
It is always very handy for hopping around the grid to visit regions that are further away but you DO have to log out and in again takes about 30secs to update from the webpage avatar toolbox to the viewer so you can login to the new region home you’ve selected and you can change it back if you want to another Region etc Remember you must log out and change your home region for this to work .

Why am I seeing strange coloured triangles flashing when people move or I touch a prim?
You need to turn off Show Updates in the advanced menu and all will be fine and back to normal to access advanced menu use the keyboard shortcut of Ctrl + Alt + D

Why am I seeing strange shards of filled polygons and tears in my viewer?
This is a known bug that resides in SL based Viewers no real fix for it Yet But reducing your draw distance down to a lower setting in Menu at the top Edit / Preferences / Graphics or key shortcut Ctrl+P
The Graphics Tab custom box option may need to be ticked on then shaders draw distance if its set too 512M reduce it to Say 256M should stop it on most occasions although a relog may be Necessary to clear the viewer of the bug
