Requesting an arts interest community  (Canada)
Modified By Tsuyoi Kaze on 2/16/2008 5:57:06 PM)

Hello, It's probably too late for this, but I feel a need to be more involved in the grid and have no real way of doing so without it being free. I'd like to request a new art related/involved community. This idea excludes no one as other communities may and I would be happy to maintain/build the region. Others may help if they feel inclined to do so now or later as well. I'd like to have a place where people could share their art works or their love for art if they have none of their own.

My ideas are still forming, but here is a short list of what I'm thinking so far.

- There would be separate areas all over the sim devoted to different kinds of RL and inworld art and or themes in which users could donate their works, ex. builds, sculptings, drawings, paintings, photography etc. and be recognized.

- There could be a building devoted perhaps to famous artists or a museum with their works in it.

- There might be little events like user artist of the week or month. Perhaps some competitions for fun

- If/when stores become more common in OLG, we could set up a place for people to sell their art if they desired.

Little things like that. It's just for fun and of course to meet people with like interests.

As for which region, if this is accepted and not too late... As I've expressed in other posts, I'm more drawn to the east coast. Now, I'm not sure if all regions have been put up for sale yet, if so, they seem to be "selling like hotcakes" because there only appear to be a few left, so I don't have many to choose from. I'd like it to be connected to or at least as close as possible to Terrafirma, my birth sim and awesome build attraction...that is if it is actually staying as an OLG show sim. Since Greenbay is gone(my first choice), Oro would be nice, if it is not yet bought. If it has been bought then my next choice would be Kangaroo which I know has not yet been sold and is quite close to Terrafirma and right next to Community(potential traffic zone). Other prefered choices are Juliette and Pleather.

I hope this has poked at least one persons interest. I would be most honored and filled with joy if my idea came to life.

Thanks for reading and considering. I know the staff are very busy.

I guess I should also mention that this was originally going to be a farming community idea, but I saw more potential in art. If anyone thinks farming is a better idea and would rather do that, I'd be willing. Or perhaps both could be done. =P It might be interesting to mix the two. If this goes through, I don't doubt there will be photography or pictures of old/new barns or farms. =) Farms and art are two of my passions. Anyway...rambling. Just an idea, or note, rather.

Oh, also, who says we can't add things like music? Music is an art.

There really shouldn't be an edit button on these things. I might go on all night. Ok, I'm done. =D

THIEF!! Stealing my thunder and fun! =P Just kidding. I think it's a good idea. It makes me feel less guilty about taking a free sim hostage. Though the builds in Terrafirma seem almost finished. I suppose there is still plenty more space around in it for new building...
Yes, what do you think Sakai?

There is TONS of space left!  I need help getting the area built up, I've used maybe 15% of the usable space

Lotsa water... Can I make Atlantis? =P I was gonna in Greenbay before its death. You shoulda told me it was ok for me to build in Terrafirma. Then I wouldn't have gotten attached to greenbay. I guess back then not even I knew I was a builder though... Oh boy.. This isn't a chat room. SORRY.

I could build a farm on the hill. >=)

You konw such an area may compliment nicely in the Lakes District.

This was an area of 4 Regions designed to be 'beautiful' a free hangout and the like.

We should probably generate some effort on those community regions again, seeing as they are nice and clean again after the move.

Anyone interested is welcome to PM Me.

Re: Requesting an arts interest community  (Australia)

Surely there must be a budding community of artists out there somewhere willing to put some of their work in a gallery. 1024x1024 isn't decent for any proper reproduction of 'real' pieces.

IF someone's willing to work on it, I'm sure it could succeed. :p

Re: Requesting an arts interest community  (Portugal)

Hi all

I just arrived here and I'm downloading the open life grid server and viewer right now. I want to use it for a school project. The concept is to create a virtual instalation related to space and architecture. I was wondering if there's a region out there (already online :) where  I could build this instalation or should I use my own server/region ... any ideas? I really think that using open life grid for artistic purposes is the way :D

because this is my fist post here, I'm also using this to say "Hi all" :) and "great job! "
