| Foundation Residents Weekly Meeting |
|
|
As the world is starting to grow and builds and ideas are taking shape there have been some suggestions and comments about how we can better communicate amongst ourselves and with Sakai and help develop Openlife for the good of everyone. We are in the very fortunate postion here of being given a very large blank slate to start again with, and maybe learn from the mistakes of SL as well as taking the better ideas forward and developing them.
After reading some of the comments in the chat room today, maybe it would be a good idea to organise weekly? foundation residents meetings, preferably in world to discuss developments, new ideas and any problems.
If anyone is interested in helping set up meetings or if you have any suggestions for times and locations or would just like to register an interest in attending, then please reply here. If there is enough interest, i'll get things rolling

Great Idea Phill
I would be happy to attend assuming the time was available :)
Edit: I am PST (GMT -8) There is no such thing as a "Co Incidence". |

That's a really nice idea,
i hope that timezones allow us to meet each others in good conditions, why can't we met both weeckly in another region of OL grid?
there's more and more to see!
Waiting for dates,

I'd be interested also. The only drawback to meeting inworld is the timezones. Meditating Avatar

Yes Pratyeka, thats why i was thinking sunday may be a good day, more chance of people being able to attend.
We could always do two seperate meetings to include as many time zones as possible.
Whatever is decided, a draft of the meeting can be published somewhere too |

A draft (or minutes) of the meetings is a must, just because it's nearly impossible to get everyone to attend no matter what time and day we meet. We can always record the chat history and edit that. Also, posting it in a blog would be more practical as it is easier to find later, rather than posting in the forums.
My timezone is EST, GMT+5 I believe. Meditating Avatar

Thanks to those that have responded so far.
If we can get a dozen or so of the foundation residents together then it will be a good start.

Good idea - I'd be happy to attend.
Maybe we should state our timezones so we can work out when would be a good time to hold a meeting.
I'm BST (UTC/GMT + 1)

If i have time, i will join. Timezone is GMT+2.
I would suggest to change place and vary the time for every meeting. On every meeting we can decide where and when we make the next meeting.
So everybody has the chance to join one of the meetings (timezone) and we will keep it very open.
Greetings, Galen |

Fantastic Idea... we have been tossing it around for a while and yes, minutes would have to be taken... im in EDT, GMT-5.
unfortunately I would have to limit participation during the week day to a regular chat as my employer doesnt take kindly to avatars....
But count me in as an active participant.

Great idea! I'm GMT-5 and available usually after 5:30 weekdays and most of the time during weekends based on that timezone |

I am thinking it may be an idea to have the first meeting in one of the chat rooms here till we sort out organisors and a venue and times suitable to as many as possible.
Looking at next sunday (18th) for the first meeting. Probably late afternoon GMT to include stateside residents.

ok folks, going to keep this bumped for this week.
The preliminary meeting will take place in the foundation residents chat room on this website on sunday 18th May at 5pm GMT.
No major agenda just yet, just want to get an idea of numbers that want to get involved and how we are going to go about organising the meetings proper, so to speak.
It will be easier for all not to have the first meeting in world as we havent yet decided a permanent venue and times etc.
Between now and sunday, if there are any subjects you wish to bring up at the meeting, please either leave a PM for me or leave a comment on this thread.
Looking forward to seeing as many as possible at the first meeting, remember its our world, it's up to us to make it work.

OK I can add this to the events in future.... (Actually) I'll try to get the form working for foundation residents today so FR's can submit their own events!
